Mike Mains

The Ross Farm 135 N Maple Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ, United States

Indie rocker Mike Mains makes his return to the Ross Farm to kick off our season on Sunday, April 22! Mike played on the Tack House patio last year as the opener for JD Eicher, and we’re thrilled he’ll have his own set this spring with bandmate and wife Shannon Mains joining him! Mike’s Spotify bio describes the artist: “Mains, a Detroit-based musician, loves rock and roll. He also loves the creative craft of large hooks and lyrical sensibility. His earnest honesty is evident in his music, his shows, his life. Mike approaches his musical passion with lunch pail in hand, hammering out meaningful, well-crafted songs like a skilled tradesman. With two full-length albums and a few EPs, Mike has established himself as more than just a songwriter. With high octane rockers like “Miracle ”, “Noises ”, and “Take It All ” pop-friendly tracks like “My Way ” and slower jams like “Slow Down ” there is an eclectic mix for any listener to enjoy. Performing hundreds of shows over the years, Mike has built a committed fan base and his shows have proven to be high energy.” Our season-opener coincides with Earth Day, so our Boudinot’s Garden crew will have some special offerings and […]

Rock the Barn with Christian Lopez

The Ross Farm 135 N Maple Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ, United States

The Rock the Barn concert has been moved one mile away to the Parish Hall at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 140 S. Finley Ave., due to the thunderstorm threat. Visit our Facebook page at The Ross Farm - Basking Ridge for details or call 973-650-6458. Registration is now closed, but there will likely be room for walk ins at the door after 6:30 pm We are ecstatic to announce that Christian Lopez will take the stage with his band for our 4th Annual Rock the Barn concert on Saturday, May 12! Christian Lopez burst onto the Basking Ridge music scene on an unseasonably cold October afternoon back in 2015 when he played our very first Autumn Acoustic Afternoon in the packed historic Ross Farm barn. Christian has played in the barn three more times following that first show - once with a full band, and twice on his own. Since his last visit to the Farm Christian released a new full-length CD, “Red Arrow ” produced by one of Nashville’s finest, Marshall Altman. He has also performed on two Rock Boat cruises, a Cayamo cruise, and aboard the USS John C. Stennis entertaining sailors and their families as it sailed from […]

Military History Event

The Ross Farm 135 N Maple Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ, United States

Hosted by Friends of the Boudinot-Southard-Ross Estate The historic Boudinot-Southard-Ross Estate is opening the property gates to celebrate and recognize important milestones of American military history from pre-revolutionary times to the present on Saturday, June 2. The exceptionally beautiful 50-acre site in Basking Ridge, known as the Ross Farm, is on the Federal and State Registers of Historic Places and only open to the public for special events. The Farm was home to the Boudinot and Southard families from the 1770s to the 1820s. Both made significant contributions to the founding and early years of our country through their military service. We will highlight their stories in addition to other veterans from New Jersey. Expressions of the “War at Home” will also be presented through the role “Victory Gardens” have played over time. Learn more about sacrifice, commitment, and the dedication communities have made while adapting to the stresses of war. Tour the grounds, speak with veterans about their experiences and consider a donation that will help fund two local veterans organizations. To learn more about how you can support veterans at this event, go to brbaevents.org The Ross Farm is a family-oriented facility with lots of activities for parents […]

Caleb Caudle

The Ross Farm 135 N Maple Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ, United States

Caleb Caudle and his band are making a very special appearance at the Ross Farm on Saturday, June 2 at the conclusion of our Military History Event! Caleb just released his latest album, "Crushed Coins," to some great reviews, including one in American Songwriter: "Caudle’s unhurried, low key vocals reflect easygoing melodies and soothing yet never sappy sonics. It’s radio and TV ready with enough darkness creeping around the edges to appeal to fans of Jason Isbell and Ryan Adams." The concert will begin at 7 p.m. and will have a suggested donation of $20 for adults and $5 for students. Donate now! From Caleb's website: "Growing up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, singer-songwriter Caleb Caudle was raised on rock n’ roll and Southern hospitality. Influenced by bands like The Clash and Velvet Underground, Caudle was playing North Carolina’s punk rock circuit by the age of 15. Naturally, his music matured with his age and he became more lyrically driven, adopting a love for collecting vinyl. In 2012, he decided to quit his day job and focus solely on music -- five years and four albums later, Caudle is gaining the traction he deserves. He was recently dubbed “the musical equivalent […]

Stephen Kellogg

The Ross Farm 135 N Maple Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ, United States

We are elated to announce that Stephen Kellogg is the newest addition to our 2018 Ross Farm Music Series lineup! Over the last decade, Connecticut native Stephen has performed more than 1,500 concerts around the world, raised thousands of dollars for causes close to his heart, been named Armed Forces Entertainer of the Year, and penned singles for artists like "American Idol" winner Nick Fradiani and the platinum-selling rock band O.A.R. Stephen's most recent writing work with legendary guitarist Robert Randolph led to a 2017 Grammy nomination for "Best Contemporary Blues Record." He's also had songs covered by international major label acts and released eight albums of his own that have yielded hundreds of thousands of ticket and album sales. When it comes to performing, CBS radio has called him "the best live act you've never seen" and another writer for No Depression gives him the oddly flattering title "the best songwriter you're not listening to." Filmmaker Peter Harding was so moved by the underground nature of Stephen's story that he made a documentary called "Last Man Standing" which went on to become an Amazon exclusive film. In recent years he's added speaking to his resume, delivering a TEDx Talk […]

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. concert. Suggested donation is $20 for adults and $5 for students Donate now! Kevin Harrison & True North was founded to bring a once-familiar style of music back to the forefront of New York City’s legendary scene – rock & roll.
