MikelParis

The Ross Farm 135 N Maple Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ, United States

MikelParis has trekked to some pretty interesting places while on tour with O.A.R., and he turned some of these visits into his very cool video series, TuneTrek. Well, this spring he's bringing a twist to the TuneTrek and calling it HouseTrek! Not only will Paris be visiting more great locales, but he's incorporating house concerts in those locations. What's a house concert? It's an intimate performance in a setting where people can gather and experience live music in relatively small rooms, with friends and neighbors. We are absolutely thrilled to present Paris and his HouseTrek at the Ross Farm. While Paris tours as keyboard player for O.A.R., he has also worked with Pink, Stomp, Jewel, Train, Blues Traveller, Michael Tolcher, Simplified and the Dan Band. Paris infuses his Vocal, Piano and GuitarDrumming skills into a soulful, organic, groove-oriented sound. Learn more about this consummate musician at his website, www.mikelparis.com, and join us at the Ross Farm! Doors open at 2:30 p.m., music will start at 3 p.m.

The Ross Farm Welcomes Mickelson!

The Ross Farm 135 N Maple Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ, United States

Through a career that spanned five full-length releases with his band Fat Opie, a struggle with a long-term illness and a career as a fine artist, Scott Mickelson has persevered. Now, with his debut solo release Mickelson Flickering, he delivers his most critically-acclaimed work. Mickelson is singing the stories of those living their lives in contemporary America, as fragmented as it is. Flickering appeared on the 2015 Grammy Ballot in two categories, “Best Folk Album” and “Best Roots Music Performance”. Lyrically, Flickering inhabits the world we all share, revolving around the challenge of existing in an oppressive culture, inundated by our surroundings. Mickelson is singing the stories of those living their lives in contemporary America, as fragmented as it is. Songs about home, family, loss of family, marriage, relationships that are forever and ones that are slowly dying. More so, Mickelson reminds us that we all need to be aware of how we affect those around us both positively and negatively as we navigate through this life. "Mickelson sings with aching urgency, cloaked in a dark fog that keeps his melodies balancing on the edge of unresolved, underscoring his take that life is never an all-easy road. His work is […]
