2020 Music Series Sponsorship Opportunities

Sponsors will be listed on a banner that will be displayed at all Friends of the Boudinot-Southard-Ross Estate activities in 2020. The banner will feature sponsor names and logos. Sponsors are also recognized on our social media and included in press releases provided to local media outlets.

Sponsorships will continue to help grow our music series in our sixth year as well as support the ongoing mission of the Friends of the Boudinot-Southard-Ross Estate. With your generous help, we can continue to bring nationally-touring and recording musicians to the Ross Farm. While each act is paid a guarantee,
admission to our concerts is by suggested donation. Sponsorships ensure that we can cover the cost of our musicians even if we don’t collect the full amount in donations. Sponsorships also help provide professional technical support for sound and lighting to enhance the experience.

In addition to our music series, our 501(c)3 non-profit organization hosts a number of historical and cultural events throughout the year. We enjoy hosting the ARTsee Happening every spring at the Farm, and Somerset County’s Weekend Journey Through the Past is our signature event every fall. Additionally, we’ll be on display at the annual Charter Day celebration. We are also very proud of Boudinot’s Giving Garden, lovingly tended by a number of volunteers who harvested over a ton of produce in 2019 that was donated to local food pantries, soup kitchens and the local VA’s Community Hope. We were honored to receive the 2019 Mayor’s Arts Award in the Organization Category as well as Somerset County Cultural and Heritage Commission Excellence in the Arts Award.

With the support of local businesses in 2019, we were able to realize one of our wishes to upgrade our sound system, and we hope to add new lighting equipment in 2020 to use for concerts and other events at the Farm. If you are interested in supporting a specific project, please ask; we’ll be glad to talk about how we can work together! At any level, your sponsorship is greatly appreciated! All sponsorships include complimentary admission to every concert, and sponsorship levels are as follows:

$1,000+: Rock Star

$500 to $999: Platinum

$251 to $499: Gold

2019 Music Series celebrates five years of live music at the Ross Farm!

Presenting the Ross Farm 2019 Music Series

To celebrate five years of bringing great live music to the Ross Farm, the Friends of the Boudinot-Southard-Ross Estate looked back to some of our favorites through those years as we curated this milestone season! While we couldn’t have all of our favorites, we’re mighty pleased with the concerts we will be bringing to you this spring and summer.

Tony Lucca kicks off our season on Sunday afternoon, April 28, while Matt Hires will play his first outdoor set (weather permitting!) at the Farm on Friday night, May 17. Liz Longley is a new artist for us, but she has a devoted following and we are so excited to bring her to the Farm on Saturday, June 8. While our Ross Farm crowd fell in love with Stephen Kellogg last year, he apparently fell in love with us, too, and we are thrilled he’s returning for an outdoor concert on Saturday, June 22! We will wrap up the first part of our season with returning favorites The End of America on Saturday, July 27.

RSVP and donation information for our first three concerts is available on the website and also on our Facebook page @TheRossFarm and we’ll fill in the details for the next two concerts as we get closer to the summer. RSVPs are helpful for planning purposes and also in the event a concert has to be moved indoors due to weather, those who have RSVPd have seating priority. Donations, if desired, can be made via PayPal on the website, or at the door.

Our awesome poster was designed by Kayleigh Torcivia, RHS Class of 2015 and Rutgers 2019. She is the daughter of our board member David and Maryann Torcivia, and she has also designed the Rock the Barn posters since the inception of our Ross Farm Music Series. We are grateful for her talent and generosity!

News From The LMO (Land Management Office)

(Board Members Dave Torcivia, Hilary Klimek, Jan Williams and Karen Morley view an aerial map of the property)

Since last fall a marvelous room in the kitchen wing of the manor house was put aside for all things related to The Ross Farm grounds. Board members have been meeting here since then to organize the various garden plans and store the seeds and reference materials needed to develop and enhance the existing property. When the property was utilized as the Mansion in May in 2006, the room was decorated in a blue and white animal pattern which is still beautifully intact. This space makes the job of organizing the needs of the property that much more pleasurable.

Several board members recently met with representatives from Somerset County, which owns the site, to discuss the various landscaping needs of the property. We are hopeful that once the exterior painting of the manor house is compete a landscaping plan will be in place which, once planted, will enhance the beauty of the dwelling. The plan will be designed keeping historical relevance in mind so that many native and historically favored plants will be included. Finally, a quick update for those of you interested in Boudinot’s Garden: recently, while the weather was cooperative, volunteers continued to fill the newly-raised beds with a fresh topsoil/compost mix and a dedicated space for asparagus was created. We are planning to get in an early crop of peas, broccoli, cauliflower, onions and sweet potatoes. If all things go according to plan, we will be well on our way to exceeding last year’s produce donation of 1,000 pounds to the county food bank and local food pantries.
